Want your subscribers to read your entire email? Then give them something good to read with value. While most email marketers do a great job of making emails readable and informative, there are some that just don’t get it.
Big blocks of text and long lines can turn people off when they open your emails. It will not get read if it looks like “work” to read your messages.
7 Email Message Tips
Here are seven tips to help you make your emails more readable.
- Keep paragraphs as short as possible. Limit them to 2-3 lines. Be brief, concise, and to the point.
- Put in some personality. No one wants to read a boring email, so why send them out? Crack a joke, make a funny, whatever it takes to lighten the mood. If you make it fun to read your emails, there is a better chance more of your subscribers will read them.
- Use a conversational tone. Talk as though you’re talking to a friend. This can come through even in emails and will build trust with your readers, as they know you and like your talking just to them.
- Make sure that you are using a readable font. The font should be easy on the eyes and not too small.
- Use a readable color scheme. Avoid colors like red, yellow, and orange because they are hard on the eyes. Instead, use colors like blue or green which are easier on the eyes.
- Have a clear call to action (CTA) at the end of your email so that people know what you want them to do next.
- Last but not least, preview your message or have someone else view it before you send it out. Check for errors.
Readable emails are essential for any business. They are your company’s first impression and can make or break your relationship with your customers.
